What attraction marketing is not.
Attraction marketing is not just about selling. It is not having the mindset that each person is a potential prospect and you must sell to him or her. It is also not going to all your friends and relatives and doing your pitch attempting to sign them up. If attraction marketing is not any of this then what is it?
What is attraction?
Attraction marketing is nothing new. It has been around for quite sometime. However, with the development of technology we have new tools and techniques which is allowing to reach more people in many different ways.
Attraction marketing is a strategy to build relationships with people. As you build relationships, people get to know you and trust you. People are more likely to purchase from people they know and trust.
Attraction marketing is nothing more than education or content marketing. The principle of how you use it remains the same in any business you are in.
It is a level of persuasion. It is a way of orchestrating your words to attract people. Instead of a hard sell approach that gets people retreating from you, they receive the content without realizing it, in effect bypassing their resistance. People like to buy, they do not like to be sold on something.
How do you do attraction marketing?
Be authentic
You have to know what you are talking about; people can tell a fake. You have to build your brand of credibility.
Demonstrate belief
When you are promoting and trying to sell a product you have to demonstrate belief. So, anytime you are talking about that belief has to be heard and felt. Your belief in the product will help persuade. You have to show ways that the product is going to assist people, resolve their issues, and add value to their lives. Testimonials will help but if you have own personal story as a testimonial it will help demonstrate your belief.
Online communication
In any type of communication you have to be consistent. If you are using online communication set a schedule when you are going to post. When you are consistent, people know when to begin looking for your communication. They know when to expect something from you, and will begin looking forward to it. You are building that relationship.
Provide useful content
You have to provide invaluable information and most of the time this information is free. The information you offer has to attract potential customers. The goal is to establish you as an expert in a particular niche. Your information has to be factually accurate. As we all know, customers rely on information to make decisions. You have to ignite their interests. You have to provide a high quality of information. Your content provides solutions to their problems. How “to do tips” is a good example. You will find tools to use to post your content discussed in some of our other posts.
Personal Branding
You are the brand. The goal is to establish and promote what you stand for. You have to be yourself. You need to be consistent in your marketing efforts. What represents you has to be professional, but it also needs to reflect you. This makes some people uncomfortable. I will go deeper into personal branding in another post.
Build trust
You gain confidence of people by having good content, communication,
and belief. Your reputation builds as a reliable source, someone they can go to and can rely on the content you provide to be accurate and helpful. You have to build relationships with qualified leads.
In Summary
In attraction / relationship marketing, your focus is no longer just selling the product. You are selling you. Once they begin believing in you, they will begin believing in your product and services. By being authentic and consistent, you are creating yourself as authority. You are building a relationship of trust. You are providing value. They have found something in you to connect with. Notice that we do not discuss traffic and increasing traffic. The reason for this is that if you are doing everything correct then the traffic will come. Increasing traffic to your site will not resolve any problems if those who visit it do not find value and develop confidence and trust in you!
